Union Offers Standards for Distance Education
In a report released in mid-January, the American Federation of Teachers calls on colleges to adopt standards and collective-bargaining agreements that ensure the quality of distance education.
The federation, one of the nation's largest unions of educators, approved 14 quality standards at its annual conference, in July. Union officials plan to approach colleges, universities, and state legislatures to adopt those guidelines when creating or financing
