Union College's Fraternities Lose Exclusive Rights to Their Houses
The board of Union College, in Schenectady, N.Y., has voted to end one of the more enduring symbols of Greek life: the fraternity house.
Starting in 2004, fraternities and sororities will no longer have exclusive rights to any residence on campus. While that will not affect the majority of Greek students, who already share housing with other students, it will displace the members of five of the most visible fraternities, who enjoy what the college considers
