Unfulfilled Pledge Leads College to Use Loan to Construct Building
St. Mary's College of California has a new science building, but the gift to pay for it has yet to materialize.
Four years ago, an anonymous donor pledged $40.5-million to construct the building and renovate another. The pledge has not been paid.
Michael A. Ferrigno, the college's vice president for planning and advancement, declined to explain the gift's delay, saying only that there was "a transaction that has delayed its receipt." The San Francisco Chronicle first reported
