Undergraduate Education Is Valued at Stanford
To the Editor:
Stanley Fish's "Let Them Teach at Stanford" (Career Network, September 5) does a disservice to the commitment that Stanford University's faculty members make to undergraduate education.
In the essay, Dean Fish quotes an Illinois legislator who cites Stanford to perpetuate the myth that research universities and their faculty members do not contribute to undergraduate education. Nothing could be further from the truth at Stanford.
