U.S. to Stop Requiring Men From Muslim Countries to Register With the Government

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is modifying a border-security program to which many Muslim and Arab groups have objected.

The National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (Nseers) requires men, including students, from 25 mostly Arab and Muslim countries to register with the federal government when they enter or leave the United States and periodically while they are in the country.
