U.S. Resumes Fulbright Program With Iraq
The U.S. State Department last month announced the resumption of the Fulbright scholarship program with Iraq after a 14-year hiatus. The program had been suspended because of the Iran-Iraq war and international sanctions imposed on the country.
The first 20 Iraqi scholars are being recruited and will begin arriving in the United States to study as early as January. The initial grantees will all be graduate students and will pursue master's-level courses at their host
