U.S. Limits Aid to Ala. College

The U.S. Department of Education has limited an Alabama community college's ability to collect federal student aid, soon after the department demanded that the college pay back about $150,000 in aid.

Jane Glickman, a spokeswoman for the department, said that the agency notified Bishop State Community College, in Mobile, that it was placing the college on "heightened cash-monitoring" status, which means the college will have to document students' eligibility for aid before federal
