U.S. House Votes to Expand Research on Computer Security

The U.S. House of Representatives has overwhelmingly passed a bill to expand research on protecting computer networks from terrorist attacks.

The bill, HR3394, which now goes to the Senate, authorizes $878-million over five years for research on improving computer-network security. Much of the research would be conducted by colleges and universities.
