U.S. Foundations Help Russian Science Centers
Two foundations in the United States are providing $12.5-million toward the creation of eight centers of scientific research and education at state universities throughout Russia.
The financing, an expansion of existing support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Carnegie Corporation of New York, will double by 2006 the number of centers begun under the Basic Research and Higher Education program of the U.S. Civilian Research and Development
