U.S. Faces a College-Access Crisis, Education-Policy Group Warns
The United States is losing ground in providing widespread access to higher education, according to a report released last week by the Education Commission of the States.
Even though enrollment is expected to increase by 13 percent nationwide over the next dozen years, the report says, many states are struggling with stagnant or falling rates of college participation.
