U.S. Exceeds Limit on Visas for Foreign Researchers
An independent audit has revealed that the Immigration and Naturalization Service gave out more visas for foreign scholars and other workers than the federal government allows, prompting one Republican to say that agency officials should go back to school.
"The taxpayers would be well-served by remedial math training for top managers at the I.N.S.," said Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas.
The audit, performed by KPMG Consulting, found that the I.N.S. approved
