U.S. Education Dept. Investigates Student-Aid Program in Florida
The U.S. Department of Education is investigating allegations of abuse in a student-aid program administered by the Florida Department of Education.
The Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance, which acts as a guarantee agency for student loans, allegedly reported some loans as paid in full when, in fact, they were not, and also failed to collect loan-guarantee fees from thousands of recipients.
