A federal appeals court ruled late Friday that Michigan’s three largest universities must immediately remove race and gender consideration from their admissions and financial-aid decisions and fully comply with a measure passed by voters in November, The Detroit News reported.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit overturned a federal district judge’s decision granting a request by the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Wayne State University to have six months to comply with the law, known as Proposal 2.
