U.S. Court May Limit Louisiana Law Students' Courtroom Experience
If law students at Tulane University and Loyola University in New Orleans thought it was tough to get hands-on experience in the courtroom, a federal court may make it even harder.
Two years ago, Louisiana's Supreme Court ruled that in state court, student clinics can represent only those clients who are truly indigent. Now, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit wants to apply that restriction to its own operations.
