U.S. Cites U. of California at San Francisco for Improper Care of Laboratory Animals

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has filed a complaint against the University of California at San Francisco charging that it repeatedly violated federal rules for the care of animals used in laboratory research. The problems cited include inadequate record-keeping, failure to administer painkillers, and lapses in cleaning holding pens.
