U.S. Accepts Iraqi Requests for Student Visas in Baghdad
The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad has begun accepting visa applications from students, in a policy shift that should ease the application process for Iraqis planning on studying at American colleges.
Student applicants must show that they have been accepted at an American institution. Each applicant is told that the visa will not be issued until his or her name has been entered by the institution into the database of the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Information System.
