U.Mass. Test-Drives Electric Cars

Instead of gassing up the company car, some employees of the University of Massachusetts here are plugging it in.

The university is test-driving 20 electric cars to see whether they should become the official campus vehicles. The 1994 Geo Metros -- used in a Boston air-quality experiment and donated by the state -- will be used mostly for short trips on the campus.
