The University of Massachusetts at Amherst has expelled five students for taking part in a riot on the campus last week, after the university’s football team lost the Division I-AA championship game to Appalachian State University, The Boston Globe reported. UMass also took action against four other students for their alleged roles in the riot, which caused an estimated $100,000 in damage, and said further disciplinary actions were pending.
