The University of Massachusetts at Amherst has charged 12 more students for their alleged roles in a riot in December that pitted a mob against a group of police officers, the Associated Press reported. The riot, which followed the university football team’s loss in a championship game and caused $100,000 in damage, has already led to the expulsion of five students. University police officers have made use of cellphone-shot video of the riot that students uploaded to YouTube in their investigation. A total of 22 students have now been criminally charged, and 55 students have faced discipline through the campus’s judiciary process.
