U. of Vermont Drops 5 of 27 Sports
By ALEX P. KELLOGGThe University of Vermont has decided to cut five varsity sports at the end of the current academic year in an effort to save money, improve gender equity, and help its remaining teams become more competitive.
Men's indoor track and field, men's outdoor track and field, men's and women's gymnastics, and women's volleyball are the five sports to go, according to a statement released last month. Two coaching positions and about 55 playing slots
