U. of Texas Investigates Alcohol-Poisoning Death of Student
Officials of the University of Texas here are investigating the alcohol-poisoning death of a student last month as a possible hazing incident, according to local news reports.
The Austin American-Statesman reported last week that the university was investigating the death of Jack Ivey, a junior, following a night of partying with friends. A spokeswoman for the university could not be reached for comment.
Mr. Ivey had a blood-alcohol level of 0.4 per cent when he was found dead
