U. of Tennessee Drops Severance Package
The University of Tennessee Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to rescind a $422,956 severance package for the university's former president, John W. Shumaker, who resigned in August. The vote came a day after the state comptroller's office released a report stating that Mr. Shumaker had abused university credit cards and misled internal auditors.
Perhaps the most serious accusation in the report is Mr. Shumaker's alleged deceptions in the weeks preceding his resignation,
