U. of Southern California Will Add 100 to Its Faculty
At a time when many institutions face budget and faculty-hiring cutbacks, the University of Southern California's main undergraduate college will spend $100-million to hire 100 "world class" senior faculty members over three years, increasing the size of its faculty by 25 percent. It will take aim at top professors in three areas: life sciences, urban studies and globalization, and language and culture.
