U. of South Florida Professor Indicted on Charges of Aiding Terrorists
Sami Al-Arian, a professor of computer engineering at the University of South Florida, was charged last week by federal law-enforcement authorities with raising money to support a terrorist organization responsible for more than 100 murders in Israel and the Israeli-occupied territories.
In announcing the indictment of Mr. Al-Arian and seven other defendants on racketeering charges, Attorney General John Ashcroft called the organization -- the Palestinian Islamic Jihad
