U. of South Dakota Opts to Stay in Division II
The University of South Dakota is holding the line on sports.
While Northern Colorado and North Dakota State University have announced plans to move from the NCAA's Division II to Division I -- and South Dakota State University says it will study doing the same -- South Dakota has decided not to make a similar move. The university explained last month that Division I sports are too costly and might detract from academic programs.
