U. of Pittsburgh Sets Pace on Digital Certificates

University of Pittsburgh officials who want to expand their use of secure digital certificates for online transactions say they are not going to wait for the rest of the world to do the same.

Already, the university has issued about 2,000 digital certificates to students and employees, who have used them to buy computers and software from the University of Pittsburgh e-Store (http://e-store.pitt.edu). This fall the university will issue many more.
