U. of Phoenix Retracts Application to Operate in New Jersey
The University of Phoenix has withdrawn its request for a license to operate in New Jersey, after vehement opposition from many public and private colleges in the state.
But officials at the for-profit institution promised to be back after making changes in their application that they said would better meet the state's licensing regulations (The Chronicle, October 23).
