U. of Oregon Lands $100-Million Gift
The University of Oregon announced last month that Philip H. Knight, the co-founder and chairman of Nike, and his wife, Penny, planned to give $100-million to Oregon's athletics program. The donation, the largest the university has ever received, will help build a new basketball arena.
The pledge is Mr. Knight's second big gift to a university in just over a year, and one of many he has given to Oregon.
