U. of Oklahoma Students Vote in First Online Campus Election
At the University of Oklahoma at Norman, students turned out to vote in record numbers in March when the campus held its first student election online. In years past, only about 15 percent of the 20,000 full-time students bothered to participate.
But this year, 35 percent of the student electorate cast ballots, "which for a large state institution, is incredible," says Pitamber Devgon, 23, a co-founder and director of the university's student-run Web site, the Sooner Information
