U. of North Carolina Settles Sex-Harassment Suit Against Coach
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announced on Monday that it would pay $385,000 to settle a sexual-harassment lawsuit against its renowned women's soccer coach that was filed by one of his former players.
As part of the settlement, the coach, Anson Dorrance, must apologize to players on the teams he coached between 1996 and 1998 for making inappropriate sexual comments to women on those teams. The university also must review its sexual-harassment policy.
