U. of North Carolina Cuts Some Technology Services
Facing sustained state budget cuts, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is reducing some of its technology services for students and faculty members.
The university has shut down a computer-training center that provided free instruction to students and faculty members on using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The university is also in the process of closing several computer labs on the campus and getting rid of its dial-up modem service.
