U. of Nebraska Sues Government Over Visa Request for Bolivian Historian
The University of Nebraska at Lincoln has sued the U.S. government to try to force it to respond to a petition the institution filed 21 months ago as part of the process of hiring a Bolivian historian.
The lawsuit appears to be the first time in recent years that a higher-education institution has gone to court to counter what critics say is a growing number of cases in which the government has kept out foreign scholars for ideological reasons.
