U. of Nebraska Backs Away From Shared Rural Facility in Favor of Online Courses

Three institutions of the University of Nebraska system plan to cut back on a rural-outreach program and instead offer more online courses in an attempt to save money.

Several public institutions offer traditional classroom courses at College Park, an educational center in Grand Island that was created in 1992 to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level course work to students from rural areas of the state.
