U. of Mississippi Rescinds 3 Degrees
The University of Mississippi's governing board has voted to revoke the degrees of three students whose transcripts contained credits for distance-education classes they did not take.
The cheating was discovered in August 1999, when a check of records revealed some irregularities in the files of eight students. The university conducted an internal investigation and confronted the students about the discrepancies.
