U. of Minnesota Fires Women's Basketball Coach
For Minnesota hoops, the hits just keep on coming.
The University of Minnesota-Twin Cities fired Cheryl Littlejohn, its women's basketball coach, and imposed restrictions on the team in May after an investigation uncovered "a pattern of deliberate rules violations." The finding is another blow for the Golden Gophers, seven months after the National Collegiate Athletic Association put their men's basketball team on four years' probation for an academic scandal.
