U. of Massachusetts Raises Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees are on the rise again at the University of Massachusetts system, which won acclaim in the late 1990s for trimming college costs.
The university's Board of Trustees voted to increase in-state tuition and fees on the system's five campuses by an average of 7.8 percent, to $5,047. (Out-of state tuition and fees will increase by an average of 3.1 percent.)
