U. of Maine Trustees Approve a Scaled-Back Reorganization
The Board of Trustees of the University of Maine System has unanimously approved a scaled-back version of a controversial reorganization of the seven-campus system. But some state lawmakers said they would try to block the plan unless additional changes are made.
Joseph W. Westphal, the chancellor, said the trustees' vote last week sets in motion the most extensive overhaul ever proposed for the 40-year-old system.
