U. of Kansas to Drop 2 Sports Programs
The University of Kansas has announced that it will drop men's teams in swimming and tennis at the end of this academic year as a cost-cutting measure, a day after its neighbor to the north, the University of Nebraska, issued a call to cap expenditures in sports.
Robert E. Frederick, athletics director at Kansas, said the cuts would save $3.6-million over the next five years.
