U. of Iowa Shuffles Classes and Scrambles to Restore Heat
The University of Iowa, which suffered at least $232-million in damages when the Iowa River inundated its campus in June, faces a monumental task in getting its power system back online by November 1 so buildings will be heated this winter, officials said at a news conference this week.
The temporary steam boilers that have supplied power to the campus since the devastating flood won't be enough to keep the buildings warm during the cold Iowa winter, the officials warned. But they said
