U. of Iowa Puts Flood Damage at More Than $230-Million
When the Iowa River topped its banks and inundated the University of Iowa's campus last month, the disaster caused damages worth at least $232-million, the university estimated Tuesday in a report to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
That estimate, which could grow as the extent of the damage becomes clearer, includes the cost of repairing, cleaning, and disinfecting at least 20 campus buildings, fixing broken utility lines and the tunnels that carry them, and replacing
