U. of Iowa Herbarium Will Move to Iowa State
The University of Iowa Herbarium is about to be uprooted.
University officials are proceeding with plans to merge the collection of dried and pressed plants into the herbarium at Iowa State University. The cost-cutting move could take effect as early as March, despite a two-year campaign of petitions, opinion articles, and exhortations by the University of Iowa Herbarium curator Diana Horton and others, who have urged the institution to keep the 250,000 specimens in Iowa
