U. of Iowa Gains Independent Accreditation for Protecting Human Volunteers in Research
The University of Iowa has become the first academic institution to receive independent accreditation for its protection of volunteers in medical studies.
Iowa had to spell out some of its procedures more clearly to fit the standards of the accrediting organization, the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs, says David L. Wynes, assistant vice president for research at Iowa.
