U. of Iowa Enforces Strict Code of Conduct for Clothing Manufacturers It Licenses
The University of Iowa is playing hardball with apparel manufacturers and other makers of licensed products.
At the beginning of the year, the university told the 560 companies with licenses to make Hawkeye paraphernalia that they would have to abide by a new code of conduct requiring them to disclose factory locations, pay workers a living wage, and abide by other principles adopted last year in response to student protests.
In February, Iowa cancelled 153 of those licenses
