U. of Illinois at Chicago Lures Another Big-Name Scholar

Another big player has been added to the lineup at the University of Illinois at Chicago: Sander L. Gilman. After six months of negotiations, Mr. Gilman, a professor of medicine and liberal arts and sciences at the University of Chicago, has agreed to take the plunge and move across town.

He accepted U.I.C.'s offer last month. This is the second time Mr. Gilman, one of the most prolific scholars in the business, has entertained an offer from Illinois-Chicago. The last time was nearly
