U. of Illinois Upsets Homecoming Tradition
Breaking a 62-year-old tradition, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has overthrown its traditional homecoming monarchy.
The student-run Illini Union Board, which has sponsored the election of homecoming royalty in the past, decided last spring that it would focus on other activities instead. Last month, a separate committee, which organizes homecoming events, announced that it, too, would not hold
