Richard Herman, chancellor of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, offered his condolences this morning after the police reported that the man who killed five people at Northern Illinois University on Thursday was a graduate student at Illinois.
Counselors from the university had traveled to DeKalb to help the Northern Illinois staff, he said.
The university established a blog for people on that campus to “express feelings of grief, confusion, sorrow, and most of all our condolences for the people of NIU.”
Another general site for sharing condolences has been established at Legacy.com.
