U. of Florida Tallies Environmental Cost of Football
Researchers at the University of Florida have calculated that it will take 16 acres of forest 10 years to absorb the carbon emissions associated with this year's football game against the university's rival, Florida State University.
In an effort to make the annual Gators-Seminoles showdown carbon neutral, Florida worked out a deal with some landowners and the advocacy group Environmental Defense. The landowners, Jim and Winston Bailey, have set aside 100 acres of pasture to be planted
