U. of Denver Donor Gets Ride to the Top
The University of Denver thanked one of its trustees for a $1.5-million gift by lifting him 215 feet off the ground.
Carl M. Williams, a trustee since 1997 and a former state Senator, went aloft alongside an 11,685-pound bell as it was being installed in a new tower that bears his name.
Mr. Williams had donated the money for a 65-bell carillon and the 215-foot tower, the tallest in Colorado, a university official
