U. of Central Ark. Offers a Home to Prominent Journal of Southern Culture
The critically acclaimed but financially struggling Oxford American magazine, a champion of Southern literature and culture, will move to the University of Central Arkansas under an agreement signed last week by the university and the publication's editor, Marc Smirnoff.
The university will pay $490,000 to become the new home of the Oxford American, which suspended operations in July 2003 because of fiscal troubles. A nonprofit organization will run it for at least three years,
