U. of Cambridge and Gates Foundation Discuss Creating Rhodes-Like Scholarships; Chinese Students Go Online; Singapore Business School to Publish Asian Case Studies
The University of Cambridge, in Britain, has confirmed reports that it is talking to Bill Gates's foundation about a $200-million endowment to create a Cambridge version of the Rhodes scholarships.
"The University of Cambridge has put a proposal to the Bill Gates Foundation proposing that the foundation endow a global scholarship program," a spokesman said. Mr. Gates has already given the university $19-million for a new computer laboratory.
